Hair Application Types & Their Benefits

Hair Application Types & Their Benefits
Hair extensions and their applications have been around for years. Both men and women have worn hair extensions for movies and theatres shows. They are even worn in the UK courtroom by lawyers and judges and, of course by our favourite celebrities.
There are many application processes around the world and depending upon which application is chosen, for example, wigs, there are further levels of application layers still found within. We know, crazy right?
In order not to confuse you too much, we’d like to educate you on the applications we offer and their benefits.

Clip-In Extensions

The easy, established application process there is on the market today which offers a temporary solution of adding volume to your natural hair. The secret to this application is in its name ‘clip-in’. You simply clip the extensions onto your own natural hair and clip off to remove them.
Small clips (around 2 cm in size) are carefully sewn onto the hair weft in spaced out sections to allow for easy placement onto a parted row of natural hair.
Clip-in extensions are suitable for all hair types and really very easy to use and maintain.
From time to time some clips may become detached from a weft of hair which is normal and should be expected over a period of time. Clips can be reattached and sewn back onto the weft and are available to purchase in varied colours to match the colour of your hair extensions, ensuring the application stays undetected.
Clip-Ins extensions are safe to use however, if you have very thinning hair it is advisable to seek guidance from a professional stylist before use. Adding too many clips to extreme thinning hair may cause damage and is not advisable due to the added weight it may place on your roots.

Tape Extensions

*Tape hair extensions should be applied by a professional experienced hair extension stylized*
Tape hair extensions are thin, undetected tape wefts, which are normally 1 inch wide pre-taped hair wefts that get pressed by hand in between your own natural hair.
An application that is also called  ‘sandwich’,  this method of application is known to look the most natural and requires no tools or extra chemicals or glue. With due maintenance and care, this type of application can last up to 8 weeks.
Traction alopecia relates to hair that has been lost caused by long term pulling and breakage due to hair applications such as micro bonds, weaved hair, and tape hair extensions. It is advisable that you meet with a professional hair extension stylist to consult with them prior to purchasing tape hair and consult on your candidacy for this type of hair application.

Lace Front Wigs

Lace frontal wigs have been around for some time and have likely gone undetected to the naked eye.

Lace frontal wigs have been an alternative hair solution for cancer patient survivors who have sadly suffered hair loss during chemotherapy treatment and for persons who suffer alopecia or areas of balding.

Over recent years, Lace Frontal wigs have entered the fashion and beauty industry as more and more celebrities have chosen this type of application as a way of changing up their appearance without the need for changing the look or colour of their own natural hair.

The Lace frontal wig application allows a person to choose their own hairline. A thin undetected piece of lace is attached to the front of the wig from ear to ear to allow the user to part the wig in any way they wish. This lace can come in the same colour as your skin which allows the wig to go undetected and provides the illusion of a natural hairline.

Lace frontal wigs can be easily applied at home and are generally safe to use and remove. Lace wig glue can be used to apply the Lace frontal wig however, this is not at all necessary as Lace frontal wigs do come with adjustment bands which allow a person to either make space or tighten the fitting for their suited head size.

Flip Hair Extensions

The latest fastest application to hit the market today. Known for its 30-second application anyone can do.

The Flip hair application process was designed to offer instant volume to natural hair. Hair is double weft (two wefts are sewn together) and attached to a thin almost invisible plastic wire which is snap resistant, stretchy and lightweight.

This thin wire acts as an ‘Alice band’ would do and can be placed anywhere you wish within a parted section of your hair. Once placed down, your own natural hair is combed over it. Bingo, there is nothing else to it! Just like clip-in extensions, the thin plastic wire found within Flip hair can be customized to resemble the colour of the extensions. Most Flip hair wire is transparent therefore versatile to all.
